शाम-ए-ज़िन्दगी, Evening of life

साँचेमें अज़लक़े हर घडी़ ढलती हैं।

हर वक़्त यह शाम-ए-ज़िन्दगी ज़लती हैं॥

आती-ज़ाती हैं साँस अन्दर-बाहर।

या उम्रक़े हलक़पर छुरी चलती हैं॥

Eternal moments are cast in the mould every moment.

This evening of life burns every moment.

Breaths come and go, in and out.

Or a knife is being used on the throat of life.
